A Buddhist center offering meditation classes, workshops and events recently moved from its Green Street location to a storefront in Hyde Square.
The Kadampa Meditation Center Boston is one of 1,200 Kadampa Meditation Centers around the world. It teaches modern Buddhism, which is “the integration of meditation and Buddha’s teachings within our busy lives.”
It had been located at 179 Green St., but recently moved to 360C Centre St.
“KMC Boston holds classes on meditation and modern Buddhism that are open to everyone regardless of age, race, gender, sexual orientation or faith. You don’t have to be a Buddhist to learn how to meditate or to benefit from it,” says Kadampa Meditation Center Boston’s website. “We wish to inspire and empower people to reach their full spiritual potential in order to be of greatest benefit to their family and friends and, by developing inner peace, be active contributors to world peace.”
The center held its first class in its new location on August 27, according to its website. The center offers weekly drop-in classes that include two guided meditations, a teaching, group discussion, as well as community time after class with tea and snacks.
