Jamaica Plain Residents to Ride in 35th Annual Pan-Mass Challenge

On Aug. 2 and 3, 34 residents from Jamaica Plain will participate in the 35th annual Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC), the largest single athletic fundraising event in the country. They will be among 5,800 cyclists who will ride with the collective goal of raising $40 million to support adult and pediatric patient care and cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through the Jimmy Fund.

Forest Hills Bridge Supporters Call For Mayor Walsh to Act

A group of Bridging Forest Hills (BFH) supporters held signs and collected petition signatures calling for a bridge to replace the dilapidated Casey Overpass in Forest Hills. MassDOT plans to permanently eliminate the bridge and build a 6-lane to 7-lane arterial street with five new signals for those currently using the bridge.

The JP Music Festival is getting ready for our 4th annual event, which will take place on Saturday, September 6, 2014 from 12 noon to 7 PM at Pinebank Field.

The JP Music Festival is a free community event produced by a volunteer group of residents (Rick Berlin, Kellie Cardone, Justin McCarthy, Charles McEnerney, Shamus Moynihan, David Mueller, and Margie Nicoll) who want to bring the music of great JP musicians to the neighborhood we love so much.

Every week at the Egleston Farmers Market (45 Brookside Ave., JP) the JP-based company Bootstrap Compost will be on site to accept your compost for free or a donation. Come to the Market, every Saturday, 10 am-2 pm, to do your shopping and drop off your compost!
