It’s the end of summer, and that can only mean one thing – school is almost back in session! We hope that you and your family had a fun summer vacation, and know that you’re probably excited for the school year to resume. Before the first day, though, make sure to refresh yourself (and your kids) about the rules of riding the bus to school, especially if they are transitioning to middle or high school and will be using a different bus.
Thieves cut a lock on a Lamartine St. backyard shed this morning (8/31/14) and stole a bike. Another shed was also broken into on nearby Chestnut Square this morning and five bikes were stolen. Please be on the look-out for bike thieves and “hot” bikes being sold on the market.
Hyde Square Task Force (HSTF) is an award winning youth development and social change organization. Each year, through high-quality arts, academic, and youth leadership programming HSTF serves more than 1,200 youth in the Hyde/Jackson Square area of Jamaica Plain and Roxbury. Our mission is to develop the skills of youth and their families so they are empowered to enhance their own lives and build a strong, safe, and vibrant urban community.
I am looking for a driver to drive me to my job in North Dartmouth MA, while I recover from recent illness. Three days a week (MON WEDS, FRI -first week in September to December). Driver to drop off and pick up as arranged. You can use new car for self while I am at work. Also can use your car if you prefer.
So, apparently a group of people gathered at the Hyde Square rotary on Saturday and after they dispersed, the JP Music Festival banner and a few other banners that were hung on the fence with care, were gone.
The free, 4th annual JP Music Festival will be held at Pinebank Field on Saturday, September 6, 2014 from 12–7 PM. Event on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/261461284013483/.
The festival will have two stages, with continuous music from more than 20 artists and bands. The festival features musicians, bands, group, or ensemble members who either live or work in Boston’s Jamaica Plain neighborhood.
