More than 150 volunteers from Harvard Pilgrim Health Care and its Foundation, the Boston Celtics and City Year, joined forces last Friday to transform the outdoor learning and recreational space of the Hennigan Elementary School in Jamaica Plain, just in time for the new school year. Joining the volunteers were Boston Celtics Forward, Jared Sullinger, and “Lucky” the Leprechaun, who hosted basketball clinics for the students.

Before the first day, though, make sure to refresh yourself (and your kids) about the rules of riding the bus to school, especially if they are transitioning to middle or high school and will be using a different bus.
Thieves cut a lock on a Lamartine St. backyard shed this morning (8/31/14) and stole a bike. Another shed was also broken into on nearby Chestnut Square this morning and five bikes were stolen. Please be on the look-out for bike thieves and “hot” bikes being sold on the market.
