Good morning, neighborhood. Here’s your morning memo for Thursday, April 17.
Office Hours for Malia, O’Malley: If you need a little help on Beacon Hill or in City Hall, stop by JP Licks, 659 Centre St., Friday morning and you can catch two of our neighborhood’s representatives. State Representative Liz Malia, D-Jamaica Plain, will be there from 8-9:30 a.m. City Councilor Matt O’Malley plans office hours from 8-9 a.m. that same morning. For more info, call Malia’s office at 617-722-2060 or reach O’Malley’s office at 617-635-4220.
Explosion Knocks Home Off Foundations Not Far from JP: Overnight, two people were seriously injured when a house in Dorchester exploded. The house was at 27 Hansborough St., which is just off Blue Hill Avenue and behind the Boston Nature Center, which borders Forest Hills Cemetery.
Video Underground is Egleston Bound: In case you missed last night’s news, JP institution Video Underground has figured out a way to stay in the neighborhood as it works out how to maintain a sustainable business. Lowering the rent by moving from Hyde Square to Egleston Square should help.
