Will we even have to bundle up for the 41st Annual Jamaica Pond Lantern Parade this Saturday and Sunday? It’s supposed to be somewhat unseasonably warm this weekend, but the night will come and the lanterns will be out.
The cold arrived just in time for Jamaica Plain’s annual Lantern Parades this past weekend. Participants, some donning costumes, met at Jamaica Pond’s Boat House on Saturday and Sunday, and paraded around the pond with lanterns in tow at dusk.
The very popular annual Jamaica Plain Lantern Parades are on Saturday and Sunday. There are also several lantern making workshops this week for kids (and adults).
One of the greatest JP traditions is the annual Lantern Parade around Jamaica Pond. Children, adults (and dogs!) gather to enjoy music, food and drink, design their own lanterns, and then walk around the pond with their glowing creations.
