No one can say that the ‘Thursdays on the Lawn’ event — a collaboration between the JP Tuesday Club (stewards of the Loring-Greenough House) and JP Centre/South, sponsored by Boing! — hasn’t been an amazing success this summer. The Farmers’ Market provides wonderful food and there is music and/or movies for folks to enjoy each Thursday. Not to mention, the Friends of the Jamaica Plain Branch Library there each week selling books and movies (that’s a personal plug!).
All that is great, but we all REALLY LOVE the food trucks. It’s wonderful to grab something to eat, sit on the lawn of the LGH and just be in JP. But last week, the food trucks were not there!!
Turns out, the permit is every Thursday from June through August, but JUST First Thursdays in September and October. Does everyone agree that for every Thursday event June to the end of October we should have food trucks??? If so, please send an email the JP Neighborhood Council (info.jpnc@gmail.com or via http://www.jpnc.org) and the Sumner Hill Association (president@sumnerhillassociation.org or check “Contact us” information at http://www.sumnerhillassociation.org) who influenced this limited schedule to ask them to expand it in 2015. Food trucks every week please and thanks everyone. See you at ‘Thursdays on the Lawn’!
