January Vigil in Support of Black Lives Matter
January 5, 2023 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
Everyone is warmly invited to participate in the January Vigil in Support of Black Lives Matter, on Thursday, January 5, from 5:30-6:30 pm on the lawn of the First Baptist Church in Jamaica Plain, 633 Centre Street, JP. This month we will celebrate the life and legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and supporters are invited to bring and share short quotations, readings, or stories of the work of Dr. King and other men and women who have been leaders in the fight to end systemic racism. The Vigil will continue with a “call and response” reading of names of victims of racist violence and a 20-minute stand-out along Centre Street to witness for racial justice and human rights. Everyone is welcome.
The Jamaica Plain News calendar is open to all local organizations and businesses.
