Jamaica Plain Storm Center: Traffic Woes as Storm Continues

4:14 p.m. — Universal Hub reports traffic being at more-than-usual standstill status around Forest Hills.

1:15 p.m. — The National Weather Service has scaled back its snowfall total estimates because of warming ground temperatures. JP is still in the “4-6 inches” part of their map as of 1 p.m.

What to Expect from Thursday’s Storm

Jamaica Plain can expect anywhere from two to eight inches of snow Thursday, according to a review of several forecasts. Meteorologists say the exact track of the snow line is hard to predict.

If that name rings a bell, it may be because you knew me as the founding editor of Jamaica Plain Patch. Or maybe you were a dog walking buddy when I lived in Forest Hills.

My wife Jane and I are starting this online news and community site for the neighborhood we all love.

Our new local business is in the “soft launch” phase. We’ll be “officially” launching on Thursday, April 3. Please stop by our launch party during First Thursday. The party is at the Centre/South Main Streets “pop up” space at 668 Centre St. from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 3.
