Fresh News for the Neighborhood You Love
In this moment of deep political harm coming from the White House, I want our neighbors to know that each day there is something you can do. I won’t mince words about the challenges we’re faced with. I also won’t cede anything. In this moment, as always, the power lies with the people. We can sustain each other and take care of each other.
If you’ve been in Ferris Wheels, Jeff Ferris has probably helped you find a helmet, or figured out what bike size makes sense for your child, or advised you to add air to your tires and oil to your chain. Known for wearing suspenders and often not wearing shoes, Ferris opened the eponymously named bicycle shop in 1982, and recently sold the business to a former employee.
Jamaica Plain nonprofit Youth Enrichment Services (YES) celebrated the groundbreaking of its future headquarters on Amory Street on Jan. 29.
