The owner of the Bluefin seafood restaurant/store announced that the Centre Street business is permanently closed. Owner Jason Tucker made the announcement on Facebook. He added that Bluefin will still be selling seafood at the Jamaica Plain Farmers Market on Saturday and Tuesdays, as well as the Roslindale Winter Market. Bluefin opened at 660 Centre St. in 2024 as a fish market, and also sold chowder, oysters, lobster rolls, and more.
Argh! Shuttle buses will be replacing Orange Line service between Forest Hills and Back Bay from Feb. 28 through March 8 for signal upgrades. All shuttle buses will be accessible, says the MBTA. Restaurants are being warned across the city, that restaurants are being broken into by a similar fashion and robbed. Two Jamaica Plain restaurants had their doors smashed and registers robbed in January. JPizzle Kitchen and Abuela’s Table were both robbed on Jan. 14 within minutes of each other. Two Jamaica Plain organization were recently awarded $10,000 each in Community Empowerment Grants from the city. Mayor Michelle Wu and the Office of Black Male Advancement announced that 39 community-based organizations across Boston received a total of $500,000. A three-alarm fire on Wyman Street during the early hours of Wednesday morning displaced 13 people, and sent a firefighter and one resident to the hospital. Boston Fire responded to the fire at 98 Wyman St., around 4:45 am. Heavy fire was seen upon arrival, and the fire extended to the adjacent home at 100 Wyman St., reported the Boston Fire Department.
