Concert Reading of ‘Once More with Hurt Feelings’ at JP Library
Terry Kitchen’s new musical Once More with Hurt Feelings will have its debut concert reading at the Jamaica Plain Branch Library on Saturday, April 11. The performance begins at 1 PM and admission is free. The concert reading will feature a full cast of singer/actors performing the songs and dialog from the show.
Once More with Hurt Feelings celebrates the friendship, courage and survival of outcasts amidst the pressures of overwhelming conformity. Set on the eve of America’s Bicentennial, a time (like now) of great change and resistance, Once More with Hurt Feelings asks, “Who should be invited to the party?” and tunefully answers “All of us!” The show’s music features a warm ’70s vibe, combining rock, folk and reggae grooves with deft lyrics and insightful characterizations. The cast features a number of current and former Berklee and Boston Conservatory students who use their talents and energy to bring the show to life.
