So the Weather Channel has started naming winter storms. The one set to hit Boston Sunday night into Monday they’re calling “Linus.”

UPDATE: The National Weather Service has updated its forecast from a winter storm watch to a winter storm warning.

With some sidewalks still in poor shape, Jamaica Plain may be hit by another big winter storm Sunday night into Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

As a blizzard approaches, the city declared a snow emergency and on-street parking ban effective 6 p.m. Monday. That means no parking on major arteries.

Eliot School: No classes Wednesday. School reopens Thursday at 9 a.m.
City Council Town Hall for JP: JP Progressives is postponing this town hall, which was to have been Wednesday night.
Wednesday Meeting on Extending Green Line to Hyde Square: Cancelled because Connolly Library remains closed. Event will be rescheduled.

Jamaica Plain made it through the “crippling and potentially historic blizzard.” And the foot of snow that came with the next storm. Now we’re bracing for a Valentine’s Day Blizzard so we’re keeping the Storm Center open. Please check back for updates.

Jamaica Plain’s first decent storm of the year has some fight left in it as of Saturday early afternoon. The National Weather Service is reporting the storm is expected to last through early evening. Accumulations could hit 4-8 inches.
With the National Weather Service warning that wind chills could hit 24 below, the city is offering tips on how to stay safe during the deep freeze.
The National Weather Service is calling for an inch or two of snow before precipitation changes over to rain between 9 p.m. and midnight Saturday.
