Some Boston Public School students will get to sleep in a little later next year as the Boston School Committee approved altering start and end times for the 2018-2019 school year. But that’s not the case for several Jamaica Plain schools as three schools will actually start two hours earlier and another school will start one hour earlier.
The Boston Public Schools are leading nine community meetings about water access in Boston Public Schools, with one in Jamaica Plain on June 2. These meetings are a result of concerns about water quality, particularly of lead contamination, after it was learned that students at four Boston schools, including the Curley School in JP, may have drank water containing lead.

William L. Burke III, headmaster of St. Sebastian’s School in Needham has announced the Honor Roll recipients for the third quarter of the 2015-2016 academic school year. Recipients of these academic awards fall into three categories: High Honors, maintains an A- or above in all subjects; Honors With Distinction, maintains a B or above in all subjects; and Honors, maintains a B- or above in all subjects.
