In one of the sleepiest Boston City Council election days ever, challenger Andrea Campbell bested incumbent District 4 City Councilor Charles Yancey on Tuesday. That means the two will square off in November for the District 4 seat.
Campbell received 1,982 votes or 57%, Yancey, who was first elected in 1984, received 1,159 votes or 33%. Terrance Williams received 217 votes or 6% of the vote. Jovan Lacet received 60 votes or 1% of the vote. All statistics are according to the City of Boston’s Elections Department website.
District 4 represents Mattapan, Dorchester and a little bit of Jamaica Plain. Ward 19, Precinct 12, is the JP portion of Yancey’s district.
