Tonino co-owner and chef Luke Fetbroth has drawn critical praise since the restaurant opened in 2022, and after being named a James Beard Foundation semifinalist, he’s received one of the most prestigious honors a chef can earn.
Fetbroth was nominated for the category for Best Chef: Northeast (CT, MA, ME, NH, RI, VT).
Interestingly, the chef for Dorchester’s Comfort Kitchen, Sāsha Coleman, was nominated in the same category. Comfort Kitchen actually operated for three years as a residency pop-up restaurant in the same space as Tonino, when it was the Little Dipper restaurant, which eventually closed, and was replaced by Tonino.
