Boston’s annual New Year’s Eve has something for everyone including ice sculptures, live music, ice skating performances, a parade, fireworks and more.

None of the events are in Jamaica Plain. But that’s not stopping us from telling you about it.
First Night kicks off at 10 in the morning with Jeff Jam Sing-a-long, which is great for the kids. There will be two (3 pm and 5:30 pm) fantastic professional figure skating shows produced by The Skating Club of Boston on the Boston Common’s Frog Pond. The First Night Parade begins with a lot of colorful groups, people, puppets, and more, will depart at 6 pm from City Hall Plaza and go to the Boston Common.
There will be two fireworks shows shot up over the Boston Common at 7 pm and midnight.
Beautifully carved ice sculptures will be throughout the downtown area. Here is a map of where they’ll all be. It’d be pretty cool if you could go and see every single one of them. Your prize would be pride.
