Home for Little Wanderers Youth Give Back to Elizabeth Stone House

Last updated on August 29, 2019

Youth involved in the Home for Little Wanderers Therapeutic After School Program were seeking an opportunity to give back to their community and wanted to help the homeless and began a partnership with Jamaica Plain’s Elizabeth Stone House.

The youth were connected to the Elizabeth Stone House through Spread the Bread.

The Elizabeth Stone House is an organization serving housing insecure survivors of domestic violence, through a program called Spread the Bread that connects charitable bakers with organizations in need. The youth now bake for one of Elizabeth Stone House’s domestic violence groups once per month. Youth involved with the Home for Little Wanderes are encouraged to build connections with their communities and give back to those in need. The Elizabeth Stone House has been supportive of this initiative to teach youth about the values of giving back — and are of course happy to accept the delicious baked goods.

The Home for Little Wanderers
serves children and youth from birth to 22, and makes a positive impact on over 14,000 lives across Boston and Eastern Massachusetts each year through a network of behavioral health services, therapeutic residential treatment centers, special education, adoption and foster care.
