State officials will reveal its recommendations for the future use of the current Shattuck Hospital Campus at a public meeting on June 25.
The state is relocating 260 inpatient beds to the Newton Pavilion at the Boston Medical Center campus. The state is relocating the beds because the campus needs significant renovations.
Nonprofit provider programs currently operating at the Shattuck, including residential treatment programs, outpatient psychiatric services, Pine Street shelter and methadone clinic, will remain at the Shattuck.
The Executive Office of Health and Human Services and the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance have led a 10-month planning process, which ends this month.
At the meeting state officials will provide an opportunity for the community to:
- Understand planning goals, process to-date, identified needs, and vision for the campus;
- Learn how the campus plan will inform next steps for redevelopment of the Shattuck Campus;
- Provide feedback on draft components of the plan.
This the third and final community meeting for the Shattuck Campus planning project. The meeting will on Tuesday, June 25, from 6:30 to 9 pm at the Franklin Park Golf Clubhouse (1 Circuit Drive, Dorchester). Doors open at 5:45 pm.
A Spanish interpreter will be provided for the meeting, and written materials will be available in English, Spanish or Haitian Creole.
