Rose JP, New Women’s Boutique Features New & Preloved Fashion on Heath Street

Last updated on December 5, 2018

The Rose JP boutique opened this fall and brings what Jamaica Plain residents love to see in the neighborhood– an independent business with a community conscience that supports local entrepreneurs.

Carina Lopez opened Rose JP on Oct. 1, 2018 and is a women’s boutique featuring new and preloved fashion.

“We are a women’s boutique featuring new and preloved fashion, supporting local female founded brands and offering makeup services,” said owner Carina Lopez to Jamaica Plain News about the business located at 51 Heath St.

Lopez’s business is dedicated to supporting local women entrepreneurs by doing vending events like its Nov. 24th #ShopSmall Pop-up Market on Small Business Saturday.

At that event Rose JP hosted the maker behind the Massachusetts-based Barbara Rodriguez Co. organic and vegan skin care line, sold GloryScent’s vegan luxury soaps, earrings and scarves by C9Series, party dresses and handbags from Chic Boutique and AFROTHREADS’ scarves, hair accessories, prints and textiles.

Rose JP also recently hosted a Shop Her Closet event at which a local fashionista donated more than 200 pieces from her personal closet and 40 percent of sales went to Rosie’s Place.

Local artists work is also displayed and for sale.

And while Rose JP’s thrift boutique section is currently donated-based, it will soon be transitioning to consignment-based.

“We want to bring the downtown experience to the neighborhood with affordable pricing,” said Lopez.
