New Restaurant: Delicias 100% Express Coming with Cativias to Centre Street

Last updated on February 23, 2018

A mother and son team are teaming up to bring a Dominican restaurant to Centre Street.

Delicias 100% Express is coming to 660A Centre Street in Jamaica Plain.

Delicias 100% Express is a partnership between Lewis Crespo and his mother, Civelis De Los Santos, who owns 100% Delicias in Hyde Park. The new restaurant will be at 660A Centre St., which is across from JP Licks.

Crespo said that the restaurant’s focus will be cativias, which are deep-friend cassava snacks that will be offered with a variety of fillings. He added that cativias are from Dominican Republic and that’s where his family learned to make them.

“We will be offering snacks and smoothies on the go, so it will be more of a takeout place than a sit-in (restaurant),” said Crespo to Jamaica Plain News. “We will still be offering indoor seating for customers who’d like to hang out.”

He added that customers will have the option to build their own smoothies. Crespo also hopes to include vegan and vegetarian options, as well as ceviche, mofongo and other Dominican fare.

It is not clear when the restaurant will open as Crespo had initially hoped for it to open in mid-January. A recent look inside the storefront showed that a lot more work needed to be done before the restaurant can open.
