Hoopla Productions produces year-round events, building on the success of Jamaica Plain Porchfest, always with the same mission of using the arts to bridge the divides of race, class, culture and immigrant status. As part of Hoopla’s ResistARTS series, it will be presenting Resist & Rejoice! at the Hope Central Church (85 Seaverns Ave.) on Monday, Feb. 26th from 7 to 8:30 pm.

The event will feature a collaboration between the outstanding musicians of Petrichor and Poetry Slam Champion and local spoken word artist, Porsha Rashidaat J. Olayiwola. The night will be raising awareness and funds for Boston GLASS, which provides a continuum of services to LGBTQ+ youth of color in the Boston area, and Student Immigrant Movement, an immigrant youth-led organization that fights for the liberation of the undocumented community.

The event is free with suggested donation to Boston GLASS/SIM. Click here for more information about the event.
