Galvin was first elected as Secretary of State in 1995. He will be speaking at a JP Progressives meeting, which is open to the public. RSVPing is requested and can be done so by clicking on the Facebook link above.
The Secretary of State is a lesser known state elected position, but it is a very important role. The Secretary of State, “Promotes the principal information resources for the state government of Massachusetts. Has information on elections and voting, doing business in Massachusetts, historical research, public records, registry of deeds, and other general information.”
In an email blast the JP Progressives group stated, “We have not officially decided whether to make an endorsement in this race so it will be important to attend, listen, and then make your voice heard.”
The meeting starts at 6:30 pm. You don’t have to be from JP, progressive or a Democrat to attend the meeting. Doyle’s is located at 3484 Washington St.
