Sensational Saturday! Holiday Stroll, Shop with a Cause, Boston Pops & Mayor’s Tree Lighting

Last updated on November 29, 2017

This Saturday is packed with local holiday events as JP Centre/South Main Streets is holding its Holiday Stroll, numerous businesses are participating in the 4th Annual Shop with a Cause, the Mayor’s Enchanted Trolley Tour has two stops in JP — and the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra is performing.

Numerous businesses on Centre and South streets are planning events throughout the day from 11 am to 4 pm. There will be an information table at the Monument (South and Centre streets) from 11 am to 4 pm with a list of the day’s events — and free hot cocoa. You can also check online here for a map of events.

At 11:30 am, a jazz trio from the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra will perform at the JP Branch Library. This performance is part of the new BSO in Residence program in JP.

The Mayor’s Enchanted Trolley Tour will stop for two tree lightings in JP: the first in Hyde Square at 1:45 pm, and then at the Monument (Centre and South streets) at 2:30 pm. The group Random Chants A Cappella will sing holiday hits at the Monument at 2 pm.
