Enjoy the culinary delights of more than 20 local best restaurants while supporting a great cause at the 22nd Taste of Jamaica Plain Thursday, Sept. 14. Oh, don’t forget that you’ll have opportunities to have encounters with wild animals!
“This will be the third year the Taste [of Jamaica Plain] will be held at the Franklin Park Zoo, a unique location that appeals to all ages!” said Emily Morris Litonjua, executive director of Ensuring Stability through Action in our Community (ESAC). “This year, the Taste will move from the Tropical Rainforest Pavilion to the newly constructed Nature’s Neighborhoods area. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the ecosystems represented there among the new exhibits representing diverse ecosystems.”
There will be food offerings for everyone: vegetarian, vegan, meat, Southern cooking, sushi, Indian, tapas, desserts, Mexican, freshly baked goods and more.
Participating restaurants include (but are not limited to): FOMU, Bukhara, Bella Luna/Milky Way, The Frogmore, Tres Gatos, Chilacates, Canary Square, Ten Tables, JP Seafood Cafe, Fiore’s Bakery, Evy Tea, The Real Deal, The Gate Bar & Restaurant, Wok n Talk, Ula Cafe, Grass Fed, The Blue Frog Bakery and more.
ESAC is a 501(c)3 non-profit community organization and ticket sales will go to support ESAC’s GED Plus education programs for at-risk youth, as well as programs for free home repair for low-income seniors and foreclosure prevention counseling.
Along with all of the food options, there will be live music by Dozer & The Homewreckers. There will also be a silent auction and you can view the auction items by clicking here. Auction items include gift certificates to restaurants, cultural entertainment attractions and more. There will also be a cash bar for beer and wine.
The 22nd Taste of Jamaica Plain is on Thursday, September 14th from 6 to 9 pm. VIP tickets get you in at 5 pm, complimentary drinks at the bar and more. There are discounted tickets for seniors, and children under 12 eat for free. Tickets can be purchased online by clicking here.
