The 2017 Fall JP Moms Yard Sale is almost here! This annual community event will be held on Saturday, September 9, from 9 am to 1 pm at First Church in Jamaica Plain by the Soldier’s Monument. More than 50 families will be selling children’s clothing, books, equipment and more. This unique sale provides families with affordable options suitable for ages newborn to pre-teen.
In addition to seeing neighbors and friends, and finding some good bargains, this year there will be two opportunities to contribute to worthy causes:
Got unused bras?
Look for the bra collection box and donate your unused bras to Free The Girls, an international organization devoted to helping sex trafficking survivors with a path to freedom. Bras collected across North America are shipped to in El Salvador, Mozambique, and Uganda for program participants to earn a safe income selling bras in the large second-hand marketplace. Free The Girls has helped women purchase homes and land, go to school, and gain access to healthcare.
Help Families Affected by Hurricane Harvey
JP Moms Yard Sale sellers will be donating 5-10% of proceeds from sales to The Diaper Foundation in Houston, TX. This non-profit organization helps underprivileged families acquire adequate diapering supplies and focuses on raising awareness on poverty issues, providing families with hope for the future. Families in Houston need all the help they can get during this unprecedented crisis and in the spirit of our wonderful parenting community we’re hoping to be able to send a large group contribution to this worthy cause.
Come for the great gently worn gear for your kids, and go home knowing that your purchases and donations are making a difference and helping women around the world.
