11 Delicious Restaurants at Sweet Tastes of JP to Benefit ESAC May 18

State and federal budget cuts are likely to hit many local nonprofits hard, but you can support a great local nonprofit that helps senior citizens in Jamaica Plain by eating delicious treats from local bakeries, supermarkets, ice cream shops and more. Eating tasty treats and helping the elderly? It’s a win-win!

Ensuring Stability through Action in Our Community, better known as ESAC, is hosting its first Sweet Tastes of JP at Bella Luna & The Milky Way on Thursday, May 18, from 6 to 9 p.m.

Participating restaurants include: Blue Frog Bakery, Blunch, Fiore’s Bakery, FoMu, Fornax Bread Co., Haley House Bakery Café, J.P. Licks, Roche Bros., Ula Café, When Pigs Fly and Whole Foods.

Proceeds of the event will go to the ESAC Senior Home Center, which provides financial counseling, home repairs, renovations and accessibility improvements to senior homeowners in Jamaica Plain, West Roxbury, Roslindale, Mattapan and Hyde Park.

“In these difficult and changing times — with state budget cuts and uncertain federal support that will adversely affect our programs — we need your support now more than ever!” said Emily Morris Litonjua, executive director for ESAC.

There will also be an auction, a cash bar and music by Jose Allende.

Tickets are limited and can be purchased in advance for $35 by clicking here or purchased at the door for $40, and are tax deductible.
