Eversource issued a scam alert that people are calling Jamaica Plain and Roslindale residents posing as company reps threatening to cut power off unless they receive instant payments.
In a series of tweets Eversource said their official representatives never demand instant payment over the phone and don’t require the use of prepaid phone cards. They also provided a phone number, 1-800-592-2000, if you have any questions or think you’ve been a victim or approached by a scammer.
