UPDATE: The new owner of 775-783 Centre St. tells Banker & Tradesman that there are currently no plans to change the existing retail uses of the property.

A Milton-based company primarily known for developing and managing apartments and hotels has purchased a four-storefront block on the corner of Centre and Eliot streets across from the Monument in Jamaica Plain.
BLDUP reports that Hajjar Management Co. acquired the 3,680-square-foot single-story building at 775-783 Centre St. for $1.72 million. Until its recent closure, Tedeschi anchored the corner storefront. The restaurant Kamado Super Fusion, American Dry Cleaners and JP House of Pizza fill out the rest of the block. The property, which sits on a 3,960-square-foot parcel, last sold for $47,500 in 1976.
If the location were to be redeveloped, it appears the maximum height allowed as of right by the zoning code is 45 feet because the location is in a Neighborhood Shopping District, according to the Boston Redevelopment Authority’s Zoning Viewer webpage.
According to BLDUP:
Hajjar Management develops and manages hotel, industrial, residential, retail and office properties across New England. The firm owns a number of Boston-area apartment buildings and opened the Charlesmark Hotel, a 33-room luxury hotel in the Back Bay, in 2001. Hajjar is currently building eight loft apartments above an existing retail strip in Edgartown on Martha’s Vineyard and also recently opened The Sydney, an eight-room Martha’s Vineyard hotel.
