Vibrant flora and fauna lit up a damp, drizzly Sunday afternoon in Jamaica Plain’s historic Sumner Hill neighborhood, with nearly a dozen homeowners showing off their plantings as part of the neighborhood’s garden stroll.
Residents of Greenough Avenue, Elm Street, Revere Street, Green Street, Alveston Street and Harris Avenue placed brightly colored flags outside their homes to designate their participation in the stroll, with many homeowners not only leading guided tours of their plantings, patios and pergolas, but also discussing the history of their houses and the neighborhood.
