It’s the most troutastic time of the year: The annual trout stocking at Jamaica Pond will be held Wednesday, May 4, at 11 a.m.
Governor Charlie Baker and MassWildlife staff are scheduled to be on hand for annual event, which is part of a statewide effort to release fish into waterways for the spring fishing season. According to the state’s Office of Energy and Environment Affairs, nearly half a million brook, brown, rainbow and tiger trout will be stocked this spring from five MassWildlife hatcheries.
The public is welcome to attend Wednesday’s ceremony, which was rescheduled from an earlier date, and should meet at the beach area between Pond Street and Elliot Circle.
