Just in time for Cinco de Mayo: Tacos filled with shrimp a la diabla, lamb al pastor, whitefish ceviche and chipotle-roasted cauliflower will headline the menu at long-anticipated Centre Street taqueria Casa Verde, which is running “a series of very soft services” at dinnertime this week in preparation for its official grand opening Monday, May 2.
In response to passersby who observed dinner service at the restaurant, Casa Verde tweeted Wednesday evening:
Yes, we are doing a series of very soft services to get ready for next week.. Tonight is the first 🙂 turn around!!! https://t.co/OtD3pSmxi8

Jamaica Plain News reader John Hayden snapped a great picture of the restaurant Wednesday evening:
Casa Verde co-owners David Doyle and Keith Harmon — whose team also runs Jamaica Plain’s Tres Gatos and Centre Street Cafe restaurants — told Jamaica Plain News Thursday that soft services would continue Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings this week. The restaurant will close Sunday so the team can “get some sleep,” Harmon said, before Monday’s grand opening.
See below for the draft opening menu, which includes a range of tacos ($3 to $5), tortas ($8 to $13), platos grandes ($12 to $17) and various snacks and desserts, as well as 20 draft beer lines. The restaurant is at 711 Centre St., and replaced Indian restaurant Ghazal.
