Canto 6 to Reopen Thursday After ‘Bakery Repairs’

Devotees of one of the best bakeries in the neighborhood – indeed, in the whole city – might have been nervous at the red tape on the door at Canto 6 the last two days.

But rest easy. A voice mail message from the 3346 Washington St. bakery says it is closed for “bakery repairs” Tuesday and Wednesday, set to reopen at 7 a.m. on Thursday.

Workers at the site said the glass is being replaced.

That’s good news for us living gluttons. Our punishment in Hell may be to be devoured by eternally hungry demons amid the filth of the third circle. But here on Earth, as of Thursday, we’ll have Canto 6 back, named for the section of The Inferno in which Dante describes these tortures.
