Grass Fed JP Planning Second Restaurant in Forest Hills

Last updated on October 30, 2015

Big news, burger and boozy-milkshake fans: Grass Fed JP plans to open a second Jamaica Plain location on Washington Street across from Forest Hills station.

The new Grass Fed could open this winter, perhaps in February, in the space formerly occupied by the short-lived Tonic bar and restaurant. Plans include a seasonal outdoor “beer garden”-style patio behind the restaurant, according to Izzy Eames, a supervisor and manager at the restaurant, as well as an 18-seat bar and additional restaurant seating.

Eames cited the imminent arrival of new apartments in the Forest Hills neighborhood as one of the driving factors behind the anticipated second location.

A representative of the restaurant is scheduled to appear at the Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Council’s Public Service Committee meeting this Tuesday, Nov. 3, at 7 p.m. at the Bethel AME Church Fellowship Hall, to petition for a seven-day common victualler all-alcohol license with take-out, a 1 a.m. closing, and the seasonal patio.

We have reached out to the restaurant for more information on this second location. Grass Fed JP’s current location, at the corner of Centre and Pond streets, opened in 2012.
