Noah Katz, well known for his gregarious presence at Jamaica Pond, will have a bench dedicated to his memory. A commemoration ceremony is set for 10 a.m. Saturday at the bandstand.
Katz died on Aug. 2, 2014.
Here’s a message from Donna Kiefer:
At long last, we have a date and time to meet and commemorate our dear friend and family member.
We’ll meet at the bandstand above the ranger station at 10 am, where we’ll share our memories of Noah. Then we’ll walk together to the opposite side of the Pond, to view the plaque you all so generously contributed to.
(Although this location may not have been what we thought of as “Noah’s bench,” Parks department requirements necessitated it.
And, as one friend put it, “Noah enjoyed the Pond from every vantage point.”)
The whole event may take an hour or so.
I hope you can make it!Yours in Noah’s memory,
Donna Kiefer
