Here are highlights from the police blotter for Jamaica Plain from Wednesday, April 15 through Sunday, April 19. You can view incidents in the interactive map above and a text list below.
Among the incidents during this period was a traffic stop for a busted taillight that wound up netting arrests and charges for three illegal guns.
According to police, plain-clothes officers of the Youth Violence Task Force pulled over a motor vehicle at 1 a.m. Saturday at 2044 Columbus Ave. because of the taillight being out and the vehicle not stopping at a red light.
Police say an officer saw a gun on the floor of the rear passenger’s side. After further investigation, police arrested Jordan D. Creech, 249 Savannah Ave., Mattapan; Ronald James Watts, 48 Kidder St., Quincy and Jabree Daugherty, 286 School St., Stoughton. Officers said they knew the men were all 19 and therefore not old enough to have a license to carry firearms.
All three were charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and unlawfully carrying a loaded firearm. Watts and Creech were also charged with possession with intent to distribute class D drugs.
The time listed is when the incident allegedly took place, not when it was reported. Arrests and charges are not convictions.
