Cops Issue Community Alert After Woman’s Butt Slapped at Pond

A man on a bicycle slapped the rear of a woman running near the Boat House at Jamaica Pond on Monday. Boston Police issued a community alert and are asking the public for help.

Police report that the woman was jogging about 9:30 a.m. on Monday when the man slapped her. She screamed, according to the report, and the man fled.

The victim described the suspect as a black or Hispanic man in his 20s, 6-0 with a medium build. He was wearing a white ball cap with red trim (perhaps a Chicago Bulls cap), a dark sweatshirt, dark pants and white shoes.

Officers say to contact the Boston Police Sexual Unit at 617-343-4400 if you have information on the incident.

Personal safety at the Pond has been a high-profile issue since summer, when several muggings took place there.
