A new pizza joint in West Roxbury is running away with this year’s “Deck the Windows” city contest for holiday decorating — and leaving JP’s three entries in the dust.
But that could change if JP residents get clicking in the Main Streets contest. Here’s the link. Voting ends at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
This year’s nominees from JP are as follows:
Hyde Jackson Square Main Street: Tails
Egleston Square Main Street: Latino Beauty Salon
Centre/South Main Streets: On Centre
As of 4 p.m. Monday, the decorations at Mangia Pizza in West Roxbury were demolishing the other 19 competitors with 38 percent of the vote (691 votes). JP’s best showing at that time was Latino Beauty Salon with 2 percent of the vote (37 votes).
The Hyde/Jackson winner, Tails retail window, boasts canine Nutcracker soldiers in what owner Yessy Feliz described as a “winter small-town scene with a sense of community.”
If you’ve noticed two “Tails” awnings across from one another, you’re not seeing things. The company moved its grooming and doggie day care to the former Video Underground location back in September.
Here’s the link to vote in the 2014 contest, which ends at 3 p.m. on Dec. 17.
