Jamaica Plain Man Dragged 28 Feet By Orange Line Train

A 25-year-old JP man — who according to one witness jumped in front of an Orange Line train at Back Bay Station — survived being dragged nearly 30 feet.

WHDH reports the man stepped out in front of the train, while WCVB said it wasn’t clear why he ended up on the tracks.

Whatever the reason, the man ended up so covered in grease that the extent of his injuries wasn’t clear. Officials shut down the Orange Line in both directions and cut power to the lethal third rail during the incident, which took place about 9:15 p.m. Sunday. He was taken to Tufts Medical Center with arm and leg injuries, WCVB reports.

Universal Hub has a timeline of witness statements and reactions from social media.
