Gardeners From Other Neighborhoods Fear Us

As Boston’s greenest neighborhood, it’s no surprise JP is well represented each year in the Mayor’s Garden Contest. True to form, JP produced several winners for 2014.

JP honorees were:

Shade garden: Myrna Balk (first place) and Robert Fettig (second place)
Large yard garden: Daphne Georges (third place)

This is at least the second win for Balk, who back in 2012 brought home the Golden Trowel (i.e. first place) for best senior garden.

The Parks and Recreation posted these photos of the winners mugging with Mayor Marty Walsh:
