Good morning, neighbors. Here’s your Morning Memo for all things JP for Monday, July 28.
James Brown’s Son Is Coming to Tres Gatos: You rely on Tres Gatos for your tapas fix, quality book selections and well-curated vinyl. So what better place for Daryl Brown, son of James Brown, to discuss his book, “Inside the Godfather” (of soul, that is.) Sunday, Aug. 3, 3 p.m. at Tres Gatos, 470 Centre St. Reservations aren’t required, but I got the feelin’ it will sell out early, so you better get ’em.
Neighborhood Council Meets Tuesday: The neighborhood’s elected advisory board, the JP Neighborhood Council, holds its July meeting on Tuesday, 7 p.m., at Farnsworth House, 90 South St. Here’s the agenda.
Teatro en el Parque: For live outdoor theater, of course you’ve got your Shakespeare on the Common if you want to schlep that far. Outdoor theater in Spanish is tougher to find, but I’m thrilled that Hyde-Jackson Main Street has recruited a troupe to perform Argentinian playwright Roberto Cossa’s La Nona at Mozart Park, 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
All right, JP, have a great rest of the day!
