Two workers suffered burns as fire broke out in a crawl space beneath a Carolina Avenue home on Saturday.
Firefighters responded to 109 Carolina Ave. at 9:23 a.m. on Saturday to find they needed to bring in saws to get to the blaze, which was under the basement floor, according to Steve MacDonald of the Boston Fire Department.
The workers were at the property to install insulation. Two suffered burns and another was taken to a hospital for evaluation, MacDonald said. A firefighter was also treated for chest pains.
From the street, MacDonald said you can barely tell a fire happened. It was a one-alarm blaze that the fire chief estimated caused $100,000 damage.
