JP Bar Wars Aims to Raise Money for the JP Music Festival

Hello neighborhood! Here’s your Morning Memo of all things JP for Wednesday, June 4.

JP Bar Wars: You have to love all the inventive fundraisers the guys and gals behind the JP Music Festival come up with. Tuesday is another awesome one: The inaugural JP Bar Wars! Bartenders from joints all over the neighborhood have put together bands specifically for this competition, with the winner earning a spot on stage at this year’s JP Music Festival. $10, Tuesday, June 10 at Midway Cafe, 3496 Washington St. Runs from 8 p.m. to close.

Cuba Photography Slide Show: Jamaica Plain’s links to the island nation of Cuba are everywhere to be seen. Local photographer Charlie Rosenberg has come back from his most recent trip there with a slate of new images that he’ll show on Saturday at the Connolly Branch Library. Free. Noon to 2 p.m., 433 Centre St.
