Rise and shine, neighborhood. Hope you and any small pets didn’t wash away last night. Here’s your Morning Memo for Wednesday, May 28.
The Chefs’ Table TV Series Comes to JP: Here’s a very cool event that’s also raising money for good causes. The Chefs’ Table, a TV show seen on 45 local access stations in Massachusetts, will come to JP four times in June. Each time, a chef from a local restaurant will be spotlighted in a dinner/cooking presentation. The restaurants involved are The Haven, El Oriental, Bella Luna/Milky Way and Centre Street Sanctuary. Here’s a list of all four events. You can buy tickets at this website or by calling 617-323-0670. $40, with proceeds going to the Jamaica Plain Tuesday Club and the Chefs’ Table Foundation.
Giant Yard Sale for South Street Youth Center: I must be in a charitable mood. Here’s another good way of giving back to the neighborhood. On Saturday the Friends of South Street will hold their second annual Giant Yard Sale. Donations are being accepted Thursday, Friday or by appointment. Here are the details on how to donate. The sale itself runs Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Hernández Students to Get Honored by Hizzoner: Mayor Marty Walsh’s office says he’ll be hosting fifth graders on Wednesday at City Hall who have been creating bilingual works through the Young Authors’ Book Project. It’s a months-long collaboration between nonprofit 826 Boston and the dual language program at the Rafael Hernández School in Egleston Square. 2:30 p.m. in the Eagle Room at City Hall.
Okay, have a great day, JP!
