Boston Police say the driver of a Nissan Pathfinder panicked after an MBTA bus beeped. The driver hit the gas instead of the brakes and wound up crashing into a South Street yard.
Minor injuries were reported in the 4:20 p.m. Thursday incident, according to Boston Police. Occupants of the SUV were taken to Boston Medical Center.
The rush-hour incident snarled traffic even more than usual in the Forest Hills/South Street area.
The driver of the Nissan was traveling toward South Street on New Washington, police said, and was making a right on a green light. An MBTA bus behind the vehicle beeped and the driver panicked, police said, and struck a fence and post at 234 South St.
The impact did major front-end damage to the vehicle and yard, as you can see from the photo gallery above.
