Good morning, JP. Here’s your morning memo for Wednesday, April 23.
JP Centre/South Main Streets Spring Business Breakfast: If you own, manage or work at a JP business and haven’t taken advantage of the help our neighborhood’s three “Main Street” programs have to offer, you’re leaving some good advice and practical help on the table. On Thursday morning, those of you in Centre/South should consider attending the Centre/South Main Streets Business Breakfast. The agenda includes a presentation by retail consultant Christine Moynihan of Retail Visioning. 8-9 a.m. Thursday at Tres Gatos, 470 Centre St. Free.
Wake Up The Earth Parade: This year the parade for the big Wake Up The Earth festival is again starting in Egleston Square. Here, courtesy of Luis Cotto at Egleston Square Main Street, are the details for school groups, church groups, community groups of all kinds which plan to march. Wake Up The Earth is Saturday, May 3.
Jamaica Plain News Calendar Submission Soar: Speaking of community events, I was thrilled Tuesday to see so many community groups find and start using our calendar here on Jamaica Plain News. Just this week, groups added the following events.
- JP Jubilee Sings at First Night
- Come and Ask the Pediatrician at Southern JP Health Center
- Bikes Not Bombs’ Power to the Pedals Film Screening
- Bikes Not Bombs’ 27th Annual Bike-A-Thon
- Complete schedule of Jamaica Plain Historical Society Walking Tours
