Curley School Briefly Evacuated for Fire in Trash Cart

A trash cart under a stairwell at the Curley School caught fire Monday morning, forcing the K-8 school to be evacuated.

No one was hurt in the incident, said Steve MacDonald of the Boston Fire Department. The one-alarm fire was contained to the trash cart where it started, he said. It began about 9:53 a.m.

A Curley School staff member said a letter about the incident has already been sent to school parents.
