Two nearby restaurateurs say Ban Chiang House, a Thai place in Centre/South, closed in the last week or so.

The 707 Centre St. restaurant was closed Thursday at noon, at a time they should have been open for lunch. There’s no answer when you call their number. Jamaica Plain News hasn’t been able to reach the owner of the Ban Chiang House, but one nearby restaurant owner said he has seen her removing items from the property.

Hat tip to person who posted on Universal Hub about the possibility Ban Chiang House has closed.

When we learn more or get iron-clad confirmation, we’ll update this item.

UPDATE: It’s official. Ban Chiang House is indeed closed, according to Andrew Zarro, executive director of JP Centre/South Main Streets. But there is a silver lining. There’s a new owner with plans for a new restaurant.
