Hello neighbors. Here’s your morning update for Wednesday, Feb. 26.
Want to learn more about urban farming? There’s an information session about the Urban Farmer Training Program on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in Roxbury. Here are the details if you’re a budding citified agrarian.
The re-introduction of Yuengling beer to Massachusetts in general and JP in particular continues as Galway House announced it has the Pennsylvania-brewed beer now on tap. Union friends — I’ll note that some in the labor movement are boycotting Yuengling because of statements by the company owner that Pennsylvania should become a right-to-work state.
And here’s a reminder for the big civic meeting of the week: On Thursday the fourth annual “State of JP” forum happens at the Kennedy School, 7 Bolster St. from 6-9 p.m. This year’s gathering will include nearly any local politician whose ear you’d like to bend. Plan to stick around for small groups toward the end of the meeting. The Gazette has a good overview here of what to expect.
Here at Jamaica Plain News, we’re still ramping up toward an early-April official launch. If you’d like an email when we’re at full steam, please send me your email via this link or in the box below.
