Here’s a quick update on FoMu, the vegan ice cream shop at 617 Centre St.
The owners have been petitioning the city for a take-out license. Tuesday morning at the Zoning Board of Appeals meeting at City Hall, the owners withdrew that application because the wrong address was listed in the original filing. They’ll re-file for what co-owner Hin Tang said should be a formality.
Tang also said take-out is a very small part of their business, so the delay doesn’t hurt too much financially.
FoMu, which also has a location in Allston, makes their ice creams starting with a coconut base. The opened in JP last April in the storefront previously occupied by Got Sole 1981, a sneaker and skateboard shop.
By the way, FoMu is hiring for spring and summer. According to a poster in their window, apply in person or via email at fomuicecream@gmail.com.
